Lori, ours worked fine for approx 30 days and now nothing. Absolutely no rhyme or reason and worse, no warning as to when it will fail.

Your fridge are newer than mine and I still use it just check it during and before use. Remove the recall devise and wire your fridge as I have shown in previous posts.
I would rather control my fridge situation than rely on improper installations of these recalls that are causing more problems than there worth.
Its to have peace of mind & cold beer and hard ice cream.

Amen to that, Roger. Our fridge has worked just fine for 5 camping seasons, but we had the recall fix done anyway because ours became included with the later extension. I thought, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but then what IF it was just an accident waiting to happen? Now I just don't want it to crap out on me during a trip...full of beer & ice cream. Don't mess with my beer & ice cream!!

work around
so how do you do the temporary work around? where is that link?
I took the "recall band aid device" off completely and the fridge still wont start back up, just gives me a "no co" error on the door after it acts like it's running for quite a while.
I re attached the the red wire to the back of the fridge unit from the outside access, was that correct?

First of all, understand that bypassing the module will leave your fridge in the stock mode and may lead to an overheat situation. I had to have a working fridge so I took a risk, but there have been enough fires and problems to convince me to have it checked out further. The recall is a weak band-aid that only protects Norcold and does not correct a latent problem.
Do the following at your own risk.
The module has 4 wires and terminals as I remember (coach in storage now), 12v in, 12v out, ground, and thermal sensor (they are labeled on the relay module). Find the wire from 12v out on the module to the terminal on the back of the fridge and remove the wire. Disconnect the wire connector from the module 12v in and plug it into the fridge terminal where you just removed the 12v out wire. You will now have 12v direct from the source to the fridge.

Link to Nocold recall removal
To follow up to two2go's post I have post this on other threads because of interest.
As two2go has said the fridge will have no cut off protection its up to you.
As I have said on other threads Norcold must be looking into a third recall because of problems with second and a fire that someone had because 2nd recall did not work as advertised.
Here is part of a thread that maybe of interest as to the use of Dometic recalls.
