Norcold refrigerator

New Roadtrek simplicity 5 cu ft refrigerator appears to run a lot. Not opened but turns on and off a lot. Every morning inverter alarm needs to be reset and engine started to charge battery back up.

What is the MODEL ?

On electric mode (via inverter) or propane?

Is it maintaining temps......freezer 10*F (lower) food compartment 40*F (lower)?

What other items are drawing off batteries beside fridge?
Have you tested for other parasitic draws?

Details would help troubleshoot

I'll have to out and find model number, everything else off, parked overnight in driveway. I don't have a thermometer but it appears to get things cold. Was told it is 110 0nly.

Couple of things:
Only run fridge when RV is level wen stationary (OK while in transit)
Fridge should be a electric/propane unit

Model number of fridge will get full details

Did you get a packet of manuals/pamphlets when you purchased the Roadtrek?

Should have and should be decent info about the various systems/appliances etc.

Norcold 5 cu ft fridge is probably an 'N510/N512' model
Here is manual that covers it

If not that model...post which one you have

OK.......
That is a 'compressor' unit that runs on DC ONLY (12V/24V DC)

Fused DC from battery system to fridge DC Module

It has a 3.2A draw rating.
Add to that the parasitic draws....LP Detector, inverter circuit bd, radio display, other electronics etc.

I found the manual and you are right it is a DC only model. Clock on microwave will draw minimal and standby light on TV a little. And manual does say it should be level when parked, and traveling ok. Thank you but I still don’t have to charge batteries every morning.

So what is the state of your house batteries? What is the resting voltage and how quickly are they dropping to minimum? What are their amp hour ratings? How long since the cables have been cleaned and the specific gravity checked, and water added?
