2015 Thor ace. 30.1 30 amp. Currently have 1 a/c unit, needing another unit of some kind. Any advise would be helpful. My thought was a roof mounted in back bedroom, with a cord and plugin that has nothing to do with RV ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Meaning I'd plug it in to post at camp ground.

Does the bedroom have a pre-wired 14" opening for the A/C?

That's the way I'd do it. I doubt a 30' motorhome is prepped for a second a/c but you should check first.

I would look at a portable one. Most, all?, are under 15 amps, quiet.

Piece of cake.

I just added a third unit to my 5ver.

20A connector on the camper and a 20A power cord.

Made my own 20A adapters that will plug into a standard 110v outlet or 30A RV outlet.

Portable meaning one that stands up in room and plugin it in to RV power or power on post at camp site?

Yes. Here is one https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toshiba-...HWRU/314730948

You do want one that vents to the outside

Update from owner, we bit the bullet and had a coleman 13.500 installed in back bedroom. Its wired so you have to plug it in at RV sites on 30 amps, it has nothing to do with RV power supply, also there's a 20 amp breaker for the new a/c. 2,500 later.
