Onan 5500

Does anyone have the part number for the fuel filter on an Onan Marquis Gold 5500 gen, it's in a 2004 Pace Arrow? It hasn't been run in a while (two years) and is back firing and struggling under a load, in fact it won't take a load. It did have about a third of a tank of really old gas. I filled it with high test and added four cans of Sea Foam into it (the tank is 75 gallons). Has been driven about a hundred miles. My first thought is the fuel filter. Thanks in advance for your help.

If yours hasn't been updated there are 2 filters. The one at the top gets replaced by a fitting only and the bottom one is the only 1 left. I bought mine as a kit and I can't seem to find the kit part number.

Thanks

Well I've been too busy to do anything with the Gen. I did get a filter but haven't installed it yet. To answer some of the questions. The gen has 290 hours on it, had the carb replaced maybe 40 hours ago. It has sat for a couple years. It cranks and idles fine but will not run with a load on it. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Another item that will contribute to this behaviour is the generator fuel pump. I did a complete tune up on my Onan generator and ended up replacing the fuel pump as well. Keep in mind, there are many fuel pumps available out there, especially on Amazon. These off brand units are enticing to many folks out there because of the cheap price. However, they do not last long and not created equal at all. As a result, I purchased some Onan brand tune up parts and fuel pump from Yakima Generator and other Onan brand tune up parts from RV Upgrades. Just be sure to match the fuel pump model number from your old one to the new Onan model as there have been revisions. Yakima Generator has a good online site that makes the process easy. They are also easy to get on the phone and very helpful.
