Onan 7.5 HDKAJ

Onan generator starts but as soon as I let go of switch the generator turns off. Im getting a fault code #32 low cranking speed.
code does not make any sense because the generator starts without hesitation. I have clean and measure voltage at the batteries and getting 12.7 v.
I have also check oil and water lvls.
can some one help me what else should i look for?

Our generator started and then over sped and stopped. It showed a code 33 and then a code 36.
Shop had to remove it from the Moho and found that the stator had shorted windings.
Replaced the stator and rotor and still had issues so the control/inverter was replaced. Works correctly now and we are $5600 poorer.
Failure was most likely caused when we crossed the desert on the I40 when it was 121 degrees.

Wow, $5600 for a generator repair !!!!!!
I am having the same type of problem on my Generac 7.5 quiet.. In a way. Push the start button and she'll start right up and when you let up on the button, she dies. Start it and let up on the start switch, but hold the heater button down and she keeps running till you let up on the switch and she dies. Notice, I call the gennie a she, for the same obvious reason, I call the MH she. She is expensive and needs a lot of maintainence.
So, I get my Generac tech out and we go thru the whole diagnostic thing and it is determined that the alternator isn't putting out enuff volts to keep it running and is probably gonna take a new alternator, if one can be found.
