Onan 8000--How do I add an auto start?

I do not have the auto start and would love to have it as we travel with our pups. May be getting rid of our Excursion and upgrading but in the mean time...

Where do I start or contact to have this done?

I saw something somewhere in here that someone added auto start for about $500???

a 2013 Excursion with an Onan 8000 Generator does NOT have an AGS?

We travel with dogs also.

Onan used to sell a wireless unit that has the ability to sense temp and if power goes off the coach and the temp is reached it will start the generator. I installed one, it is an EC30W.

It was an easy install, put the hardwired unit on the firewall and mounted the wireless portion in the LR, has to be plugged into an outlet not controlled by inverter.

Too bad they quit making this.

What type of inverter do you have, some of them do have this function for temperature.

I have the 2000W Magnum Inverter.

I am going to give Onan a call tomorrow. I am sure they will have a suggestion or two.

There is an optional AGS for the Magnum inverter that is probably your best bet. Onan have the wired EC-30 that is best installed as part of the coach build. Because of the number of connections required to coach wiring, it is generally cost prohibitive to add as an after market accessory.

its not just an excusrion issue. our damon tuscany has all the wires for the ags, plugs in back by power box and plugs in front at power panel..but no ags, magnum is wired for it to.
