ONAN 8000QD Coolant

It is time to change the coolant in my Onan 8000 QD. The operators manual calls for ethylene glycol or propylene glycol with a rust/corrosion inhibitor. The coolant in the generator is blue in color. I know Honda uses a blue coolant, and ethylene glycol coolants are green. Which coolant is needed for my generator?

Unfortunately, buying coolant has become much like buying light bulbs. It's just not that simple anymore. That being said, color doesn't mean much either, but you can use just about any ethylene glycol type that you want. Your generator is not sleeved so you don't need one with SCAs. I would use one of the major brands, Prestone, Peak, etc.
