Onan Fuel Pump 149-2331-03 Leaks Around Positive Wire

I replaced my Onan fuel pump with an after market fuel pump in 2017. I installed it June 2019 and it worked okay. Today I started the generator and I noticed fuel was leaking around the positive wire where it come out of the pump. Both wires have a rubber grommet on it where the wires come out of the pump. On the old pump it was like a epoxy coating on the inside of the pump so I don't really see how any fuel could leak up through it. Has anybody seen anything like this before? I am wondering if I ought to purchase another pump, it just seem weird for the pump to leak at the wires but of coarse anything is possible. I'm open for suggestions if you have any. Thanks.

Any fuel leak is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Either fix it or replace it.

Lots of counterfeit parts to choose from out there. https://airtexasc.com/expert-garage/counterfeit-parts/

Time to throw that pump away and get a quality replacement.

Yeah, I definitely not going to take any chances with it. I sent AirTex an email giving them my part number to see if they had a replacement pump. Their cross reference tab did not come up with anything on the Onan number. There are definitely a lot of less quality parts out there and I may have bought one. I will probably get an OEM Onan pump. Someone probably makes the pump for Onan and it very well could be AirTex.

hypoxia, I did come across that one from Summit Racing as well. I think it will work, I hope I hear something from AirTex today. Thanks for the input.

Update on my leaking generator fuel pump! I ordered and received an AirTex fuel pump. I got it installed and so far no leaks - happy camper! I found my original paper work and it was manufactured in China. Sometimes you bite the dog and sometimes he bites you. I should have read about it more carefully. It was leaking around both wires on the fuel pump (weird). Oh well I feel better and safer about changing it out. Thanks!
