Onan generator
Am looking at a 2004 Motorhome with a 7.5 Onan generator. I wonder if 839 hours is a lot or a little?
Thanks for the reply

Looks like light but steady use GOOD. Bad 150 hours from 1000 hour service. Not unexpected but a few dollars, just be aware.

Most of the hours on my Onan are my once monthly run to make sure it is functioning properly and drive out any moisture.

Part of my off-season maintenance is to exercise the generator once a month: 30 minutes with a working load (AC or HVAC or 500 Watt work lights). I found out the hard way the this procedure in necessary to keep the generator ready to work when needed.

Onan generator
As I recall the gentleman that started the Monacoers forum years ago volunteered regularly with the Red Cross. He stated they run theirs 25000 hours then get rid of them. 2500 is much better than 250 as most problems are from lack of use. Enjoy it.
