Onan Generator fuel flow problem

I have an Onan generator model 5BGEFA26100P that cranks, has good spark but won't start. It will run if I spray carb cleaner into the carb but then dies as soon as I quit spraying. Once it ran for about 5 minutes after I had sprayed some cleaner then sputtered and died like it ran out of gas. It pulls fuel from the RV tank which is full. What could be causing the fuel starvation problem?
Thanks, Fred

How do you know for sure it's pulling fuel? You could have a plugged fuel filter or the fuel hose could be cracked or bad someplace in between the generator and fuel tank. Try disconnecting the fuel line at the generator and putting it in a can of fuel to see if it will run.
