Onan Marquis 7000 won't start

We have an Onan Marquis 7000 gas generator with 400 hours on it. When attempting to start, it had a flash of light and then just clicked and/or buzzed when pushing the start button. It has plenty of gas and the batteries are fully charged. It has always run great prior to this. I have been researching the problem and am wondering if it could be the solenoid on the starter. Would this be common symptoms of that issue?

If yours is like my 5500 then starter relay is under control board facing you when you open compartment door.. if you saw a flash of light.. I would disconnect all batteries.. solar.. shore .. and chassis power.. you could have a short in control box.. where starter solenoid is.. could be wire connections or critters.. I think there is a fuse mounted on vary front.. maybe that was flash.. use all safety precautions when dealing with rv power.. make a list and disconnect them all.. because you don't want to short something else out and cause even more problems.
Good luck and keep us posted

You have low voltage/current from the batteries. Most generators start off the chassis batteries not the house. Chase down the problem.

More gas engine generators start off the house batteries then the chassis batteries.

With diesel generators, some do some dont.

Go over the battery connection , removing each and cleaning them.

You will want to check the chassis ground to the generator frame too.

Sure enough. I have 2-6 volt house batteries. One had some corosion and was only getting about half of the voltage. I cleaned it up and it started right up. Thanks a million.
