Onan Marquis Gold 5500 muffler

I recently bought a used motorhome with an Onan Marquis Gold 5500 generator model HGJAB. While changing the oil & filter I noticed the tailpipe and the internal muffler seem to wiggle almost freely. Searching online for generator drawings, I see what appears to be spring mounts for the muffler and a long corrugated section in the exhaust manifold that would allow the "looseness" I feel. Since the entire generator mounts on springs, maybe the additional movement in the exhaust is to eliminate any binding that might lead to cracking.

There is no exhaust leakage or noise so, am I being really anal about this? . And, have any other owners discovered this condition?

Did you blow out the spark arrester..? And I would only inspect springs if not leaking I would leave it.. if you have torch.. then maybe put SS. Bolts on it. Or brass exhaust nuts.. so if you ever need repair it will be easier.. just a thought.. good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you
