Onan Quiet Diesel 7500 runs but no power
I ran the Onan Quiet Diesel 7500 gen in my coach yesterday with no problem. After accidentally overloading it, however, it no longer provides power to the coach.
Resetting the circuit breaker did not fix the problem.
I tested the transfer switch -- HOT1 is live, HOT2 is not.
Does this sound like a bad circuit breaker?
Any other troubleshooting assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm guessing the xfer switch isn't at the gen:
On your rig there is either a cord exiting the gen & going thru the frame to the xfer switch, or from the gen to a j-box. There are connections inside the gen & inside any j-box up to the xfer switch. Likely your overload snafu'd one of the connections. I'd start at the gen breaker(s) and see if you have a bad connection there. If no and voltage is passing thru the breaker & out into the coach, follow the cord & check all intermediate connections. If no voltage at one leg of a breaker, then its internal to the gen cabinet. You can probably find it w/diligence.
Not likely, but check to see if the breaker actually reset- full OFF then ON again, see if it stays in full ON.

Thanks Mike.
I'll look for the j-box and a bad connection there.
The breaker stays in full ON. It never tripped.

The gen breaker never tripped. I have pushed it off and on firmly several times.
Would power come out of the generator at all if the breaker was not resetting? I'm getting partial power out of the gen.
No, it did not trip a breaker in the panel box.
Thanks Mike.

Sir,
Does this generator have two breakers, one for each two legs of a single phased system??

The breaker on the generator is a single pole double throw type. It could have a good half and a bad half. Does everything work when you're hooked up to shore power?

How about your inverter. There may be two breakers on your inverter depending what one you have. Also maybe you tripped a GFCI circuit. That would kill half of the electric in your coach.

My coach has no inverter. I reset both GFCIs in the coach. All outlets when plugged in.

Update: The problem was a bad terminal junction block. Cost: $21 plus 1 hour labor.
