Onan quiet diesel generator problem please help!!

Have a 5500 Onan Quite Diesel generator Model 5.5HDKBA-3590C Serial Number H060956599. You can start the generator cold and it will run for about 30 mins or so and then shut down. If you try to fire it back up it will run for 1-5 mins before shutting down again. I have changed the oil and oil filter, checked the radiator fluids, changed the air filter, checked for clogs in air line, washed the radiator fins, changed the fuel pump, checked for leaks in fuel line, fuel tank is completely full, changed fuel filter. WHAT AM I MISSING its driving me insane. Code flashes 3 I assume for service and then 1-5 which is under freq code but very vague in the manual as to what to do. I have run it with the breakers in the off position so as to make sure its not drawing any amps what so ever and it still does it. We race every weekend so we have to boon dock Friday and Saturday nights so right now I cant use my motorhome. Motor home is a 34 foot Tiffan Allegro model M-34. PLEASE HELP!!

Welcome to iRV2 .

Sorry your first post is about problems .

The water pump drive belt is a possibility , and listed as 1,000 hour or 5 year replacement item . Longer run from cold , than from a restart ; would lead me to think that shut down is due to overheating from poor coolant circulation.

EDIT: Sorry , your reply about the belt's condition didn't show on my screen till after I posted .

This is what code 15 troubleshooting says in a 7.5 manual I have

(Controller not able to regulate to rated frequency)
Corrective Action:
1. Reduce the number of connected appliances, especially when air conditioners and battery chargers
are running.
2. Verify that air conditioners are working properly and not creating a low power factor loading condition
on the genset.
3. Remove the top housing panel (p. 6-4) and check for and correct connections at terminal TB3-1 and
TB3-2 (p. 10-2).
4. Replace the controller assembly (p. 10-2).

It sounds like you have a bad stater. But sometimes the under freq code is dirty battery cable connections. On the back of the gen where the battery cables connect take them loose and clean them. Before restarting read you manual how to clear faults and do that before starting it. If that doesn't work I think you have a stater problem. Just had to replace the controller and stater on my QD 7500. GOOD LUCK
