One of three switches will not start genset
The gen start switch at my EMS panel will not start the unit. When start is pressed, I can hear the fuel pump being activated but the unit does not start. The switch on the dashboard and the switch on the genset work fine. Any idea how I trace this problem? I tried a new switch but no luck....same result.

I had a similar issue, but with the dash switch. As I slid out my genset, there is a 12vdc wire bundle on the curb side of the genset, not the big, fat 120vac wire. That bundle had two connectors, one behind the other, uselessly and stupidly redundant. One of those connectors was weather resistant, the other was not. The non-weather resistant connector had fouled. I removed it and all's well in the genset arena.

Many ,many thanks.....that's a highly likely possibility.

By the way.....how far was the faulty connector from their weather resistant one? I don't see a second connector at first look.

My connectors were within 6 inches of each other. And amazingly enough, it was not the most rediculous or unprofesional thing I found on this rig.

Hey Tony......my gosh, I forgot to report ack as promised. So sorry. I finally found the connector you were referring to. It was located about 6' from the genset and sure enough, one wire was separated from the connector. I cut it out and wired in a whole new connector with ample waterproofing. Problem solved,!!
