Ordered a power cord reel for my 5er

Tired of lugging the 800 lbs power cable around so I ordered one of these today:

It will fit nicely in my basement with room to spare.

Anyone make this upgrade? Any insights would be appreciated.

I may get one for my fresh water as well, but that's harder to justify.

You'll love it. We upgraded both the electric cord & water hose to powered in the Bounder. Much nicer.

One bit of advice; don't reel any cord out or in, with power running thru it.

The contacts don't like that.

Maybe someone who decides they pulled out more than they need, and if they reeled a couple of feet back in, it would look neater .

As an update, I got the reel installed. Works a treat. Pretty easy install. I initially put in a junction box to wire it into the AC system, but then decided to buy a Hughes Bulldog internal EMS and that worked as the junction. My Progressive external EMS stopped working, so needed a new EMS anyway.

I have used the reel a couple of times now and it is so nice not to have to lug that 30' 50A cable out every time. Just pull out what I need and then hit the button and it goes back in the camper.

Still haven't pulled the trigger on the fresh water hose reel. We do most of our camping at state parks and they don't have water at the sites, so I have only used the fresh water hook up once in the past year.

Now looking for my next project. Maybe disc brakes?

I too installed an electric reel for the 50 amp cord. I got spoiled having one in my previous RV (a class A) so I found a way to install it in the base of the pantry in an unused space (not sure why the manufactured couldn't do this).
