Perplexed over 12v

I was installing a Fridge Defend unit in my Dometic RM1350 and couldn’t kill the 12v. I unplugged the power cord at the pedestal and disconnected the negative wire from the battery bank and was still getting 12v at the terminal block at the back of the fridge. I finished the job working it hot but am perplexed. The only thing I could think of was that a capacitor in the fridge was doing it.

Fridge has no way of supplying DC .....it gets DC from battery or converter

Unplugging from power pedestal would have taken care of converter

Disconnecting Neg from Battery should have taken care of DC from Battery
Unless battery still had a negative connection

Wouldn’t removing neg cable of battery eliminate solar? Inverter was off.

Maybe, but there are a limited number of sources of electricity.

When I put my RV in storage I turn off the salesman switch and disconnect the knife switches on the batteries . One time I forgot to turn off the salesman switch. I noticed the propane alarm was still on. It was beeping low power. I have this tiny solar panel mounted on top of one of roof air conditioners. It was being power via the solar cell.

No it would not. The solar is still connected to house circuits when it is disconnected from the battery. It all depends on where the solar controller wires are connected.

If you have solar it was probably supplying the 12v.
The solar has it's own negative.

Well a little test.......
Unplug from shore
Disconnect Battery NEG cable
Measure DC Voltage at Fridge DC Terminal
Got 12VDC
Disconnect Solar...measure again

One thing for sure......it wasn't supplied by fridge
