Please help!!! Hot Water Heater Inoperative

We are new… Just bought a 2004 Pace Arrow. I cannot get the hot water heater working. I have tested the wires and I’m not getting power to the gas/electric switch located inside the RV. All circuits and fuses are getting power. Please help! Thank you in advance!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Have you checked for 12VDC at the control board on the water heater? You have to be sure you have a good ground point for the negative probe on the voltmeter.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I had a similar problem with my 2007 Itasca Horizon, not getting power to the switch on the wall for electric operation.

After an exhaustive search between the actual water heater and the switch, I found a secondary electric panel under the bed, with a breaker labelled "Water Heater", which was in the off position.

Actually saved me some dollars, finding that breaker. I got a big $$$ quote for a water heater replacement from the first place that diagnosed it as a bad water heater. I'll not be darkening the doorstep of that service center again.

You didn't mention what brand WH you have. If it is a Suburban, there is a switch outside in the bottom left corner of the WH face that needs to be on as well as the inside sw to get electric to work. My Suburban has a separate Propane as switch and Electric sw inside.
