Have a 2006 winnebago sightseer. I have 400 watts solar system with 3000 watts peak inverter which is completely independent from coach power system. I'm thinking about connecting the 30 amp shore cord to inverter to supply power to coach and have 110 volt available in all outlets (not that I'll be using them, just in case).
Was wondering if anyone ever done this.

Plenty of folks do just that.

If you have a gas/electric fridge and electric water heater you may want to keep them running on gas.
Both of them items use a lot of power on electric and will use more then your solar is capable of.

You will also want to switch off your converter so that the batteries don't try to charge the batteries. That never works.

That's what I thought. I wanted to see if anyone done such a thing before just doing it. Thanks for responding .

Tried to turn the rv converter off, only way to turn it off is getting behind the panels where they placed it... was hoping there is a circuit breaker that I can toggle it on and off.... called winnebago and they said it's behind 12 volt circuit breaker.... wondering if there is another way to toggle it on and off.....

One of the 120 volt breakers should control the converter. Watch your volt meter as you try each one. Volts drop, you found it.

Since I'm not hooked up to shore power do I have to test them with generator running? Since i think it's only way I can see the voltage drop on my house batteries with meter
