Hi We went camping this weekend in our Winnebago Adventurer 34RQ. My question? I insalled a Tee fitting in line on the LP tank to run my table top gas grill,it lit with no problem let it warm up a few minutes on the start mode, then turned it down to MED. heat,it would go out,it did this several times. My rv tank is over 3/4 full.Has anyone had this problem,is it the grill or the hook up it self?I bought the kit from CW.We were hooked up at the campground, nothing but the water heater was hooked up,the water was running at times I was cooking. Thanks for any help.

Did you install the tee between the tank and the regulator? That is where it has to go to supply propane to the grill.

How does the grill work on a disposible bottle? If it still works OK then the kit could have come with a defective regulator if so equipped. What did the manufacturer of the kit say? They should be called as they should best be able to advise you on the problems and solutions invoulving their kit.

You have the tee installed after the motorhome regulator, thus you are getting low pressure to your grill.
Your grill has it's own regulator thus you have to install the tee on the high pressure side. The high pressure is between the tank valve and the regulator. Note the photo below of my extend-a-stay.

My set up is identical to Tom N's.
What I have observed happening when using this high pressure port to feed gas grills or other appliances with their own regulator is re-liquification of propane in the the high pressure hose.
This phenomena occurs most often when outside temperatures are lower then the temperature within the propane gas tank. The high pressure propane is able to condense back to a liquid.
This allows liquid propane to feed directly into the appliances regulator causing icing and blockage malfunctions.

Hi Everybody, A few more questions?
adj- yes, the T is between the tank and regulator
Neil V- the grill works fine with disposal bottle
Tom N- I installed the T as yours is ,but the T I have does not have the small fitting on the bottom.I have the Extend-a- Flow model, could that be the problem?
M&EM- would insulating the hose with the foam pipe insulating help? also my tank is 3/4 full
Thanks Rick & Robin

I recently read about a similar problem and it was blamed on the adapter hose itself...it had some sort of valve in it that if the pressure to the extension hose was applied too fast it caused this valve to close off the flow...some sort of safety issue, mimicking a ruptured line and shutting down the flow...It was suggested to open the valve VERY slowly to the extension hose..over a period of 30 seconds or so, so the valve doesnt think there is a leak!!

RobinGio,
Haven't tried insulation so I don't know.
I plan to get low pressure hose to extend from the appliances' regulator to the appliance. Then attach that regulator to the accessory T at the tank(Tom's "OUT-to grill----)

Hi Everyone
I went to CW this past weekend where I bought the Extend-A-Flow and told them my problem, they gave me a new Hose. I tried it out today, and it was ok. I shut the R/V tank valve off and hooked up the grill and opened the tank valve slowley the grill lite fine and stayed lite on MED,&LOW settings and I rehooked it with tank valve on and no problems. So it must of been a bad hose. Thanks Rick & Robin
