I have a Cardinal 5th wheel and recently lost power to the switch for the slide. There is power from the main fuse and panel box, but no power to the back of the slide switch. I was able to retract the slide by running a direct lead from the battery to the switch. Does anyone know if there is an inline fuse or relay and where I might find it. Thank you!

bcountry152 welcome to irv2.
Can't really help other than my slides do feed thru fuses in my main fuse panel for 12v ckts in MH. Have you found main fuse panel for your 12v ckts the wiring could be loose or they never put in a fuse.
I will short cut you to the TT&5TH Forum maybe someone there can help.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

bcountry152, I too welcome you to our website and forums. Follow the positive cable off the battery to circuit breakers near it and be sure all are good. Do you have a 12 volt test light? If so clip to ground and test the load side of breakers. If no light and not able to reset replace breakers. If you do have power leavint the breakers you may have a bad connection or broken wire between there and the switch.

Thank you for the advice. I will try and track down a bad wire. All power is good coming from main box which is located directly under the refridgerator. I checked both sides of fuses and breakers and they are all showing power

Click here for a wiring diagram ( next to last page, figure 10) of a Lippert system. Not sure if yours is a Lippert but the diagram may be typical.
Keep in mind there should be a circuit breaker in the circuit and also that the ground return for the motor is isolated from the chassis ground. Good luck.

The switch will most likely operate a relay rather than powering the slide motor directly through the switch, so the fuses for the slide may be OK but the switch still doesn't work. You need to find what powers the switch. It is possible the relay has failed or a wire between relay and switch is broken/loose. It sounds as though you have already looked at the back of the switch, so I would be hunting for the relay next.

Yes, there are several breakers in the side compartment near the batteries/ hydraulic motor. There is a very small switch on each one. Push them in and you should be good to go.

I don't know what year model your Cardinal is but mine is a 2000 32CKT. At the front of the storage compartment it has red battery cables from the battery compartment. The cables are separated by an inline relay(that's what the dealer called it) but it is more of a fuse assembly and a sealed unit. Has eye posts and nuts for the cable on each end. Mine quit on me one time and had to be replaced so now I also carry a spare. It was our fault that it blew. I have a selector switch so if I want I can move one, two or all slides independly I can. I forgot to open the valve back up on the main slide once and my wife, not knowing the valve was off, kept pushing the switch and finally the overloaded hyraulic motor blew the relay(fuse).
