Power Gear gear slipping on axle. Just a pin holding gear in place?

Our slide-out skipped a beat going out.

Starting and stopping and starting before going out all the way, and the motor didn't shutdown automatically when it was out all the way.

Had the wife close the slide while I watched from underneath/outside.

Looked like the gear didn't turn continuously (but not jumping gears) when the axle was turning. Enough turning to get the slide in but not synchronous movement between the gear and the axle.

I suspect the pin going thru the gear and axle is sheared but still providing some friction.

Any advice on how easy it is to remove and replace the pin? Seams like I might need to pull the entire assembly to do the job. Click image for larger version

It should be a 1/4 x 1 1/2 roll pin.

In the photos, it looks like it might be partially out...

Use a punch and go in from the other side and see if you can push that [pin the rest of the way out. If the pin is sheared and the holes don't line up, you may need to manually rotate the shaft to get the gear holes to line up.

If you don't have a punch, I've used bolts as punches.

I thought I had a document for the slide. Here are three of them I have on my web site: The first one has a lot of different PG slides with parts breakdown etc.

It does protrude about the same on both sides. So it might be in 3 pieces.

Found a diagram on line. May not be my exact unit but very close. pg-1010001997.pdf
