power Gear leveling jacks

I recently took my 2008 Fleetwood Bounder 34H diesel into a shop because the electric leveling jacks quit working. I was informed the sensor on the right rear jack was bad and the jack needed to be replaced. I called Lippert in Texas, who bought out Power Gear, and was told the sensor can be replaced and I was given a part number and price. However, so far, no one can tell me HOW to replace the sensor. Has anyone dealt with this situation?

Lots of info on the Lippert website. Including specific jack manuals. That is where I would start. Doubt it is a tough job. I have only done this on Hydraulics, so cannot speak to electric, but the ones I have done were really simple. Good Luck

Have you checked the jack and located the sensor(s)?

I believe what you're referring to is the sensor that it is activated by magnetics in the jack shaft?????

IIRC that sensor is in a small square tube along the side of the jack housing

Post pics if you can..

I had one my jacks off years ago for repair ... Maybe a pic will jar my memory as to what you are referring to

Well, just got off the phone with Lippert AGAIN and still no one there can tell me HOW to replace the sensor. Yes VATO, it's in the exterior tube on the jack housing. One Tech said he's never heard of anyone replacing a sensor so, they've never seen it done. I have a 1/2" thick stack of paperwork on the jack explaining everything but the sensor. All it describes is a sensor check procedure. I guess I'm stuck. The jacks are no longer made so I couldn't buy a new one if I wanted to. I am going to explore some threads I saw from people who have replaced their whole system from the old Power Gear brand.

Update. Just spoke with the parts dept. again. After all the run around with the tech people, parts was able to send me a diagram of the sensor and HOW TO INSTALL IT. I can't believe tech had no idea. Anyway, $140 for the sensor and I think things will be OK. We'll see when I get it back together.
