Power Steps

has anybody had their steps go in and out on there own? Sometimes i can close the door and the steps will retract but then go back out in a couple of seconds.if they should stay in and i don't turn the switch off they will go in and out by themselves as i go down the road. Could it be the controller or just a bad ground? Thanks,Bruce

Check the sensor on the door to make sure it is making good contact and isn't loose.

There is a magnet mounted in the door and a magnetic switch in the door frame.
When I check and lube the steps I have a magnet to hold up to the door frame to cycle the steps.

Not a sensor on the door, the sensor is in the jam. the magnet is in the door, the screen door. If the door is slightly "Sprung" then .

What you describe happens.

Slide a metal table knife (Stainless please) along the latch side edge of the door and you will find the magnet.. Usually at the bottom.. Make sure that part of the door is FULLY closed, not 'Bouncing" .
