Powergear Leveler Hydraulic Fluid level.

This is my second MH with a powergear leveling system and both have exhibited the same problem when new. The control panel would sound an alarm and all lights would flash when driving, usually when making a turn. The dealer said the fluid level was low? Even though when looking at it in the tank the level seemed to be above the float sensor. After adding fluid I used Dextron III type as the lable on the tank said) the problem stopped.

Do these units need to be filled often? I can't imagine people driving around with that annoying alarm going off. Mine was so bad I had to remove and unplug the control panel until I could get my hands on some fluid to add.

I added fluid to my first rig and the problem went away and never happened again for the year I owned it. I just added fluid to the new one yesterday so time will tell. I'm just suprised you have to fill the tank so high for the sensor to be happy.
