Progressive EMS

2008 Allegro Bay FRED

We have a Progressive Industries hard wired EMS LCHW50. It is OEM and is 10 years old. All of a sudden, it shuts off the shore power then comes back on after 15 to 30 minutes. Shore pedestal shows 115 / 7A and 113 / 3A (volts/amps). Any ideas on the cause and solution???

Any "PE" code showing on your display? Usually when it cuts power for a problem and then restores power a PE code will display indicating what the previous problem was that caused the power interruption.

The next time it goes out, watch for an error code. Here’s a chart in case you don’t have it.[ATTACH]

Seriously the single best thing to do is call Progressive and go through some troubleshooting with them. They have an unconditional lifetime guarantee regardless of whether you are the original purchaser or not.

I had a contactor issue last year and they just sent me a new one.

Awesome company and the first thing I did when I bought a new coach without a Progressive EMS was..........TO BUY ONE!!!

The display reads 888. Called Progressive and they said it is likely the circuit board so they are sending me a new one overnight no charge. Awesome company! Thanks for the list.

Thanks

Thank you for the replies. Called Progressive and they said the circuit board could be bad. Could also be an issue of low voltage at the park. EMS shuts down at 104 volts. When it is working I show 115 and 113 volts. However, everyone is now using their heaters and it could be a low voltage issue. Progressive is sending me a new circuit board at no charge. Very impressive company!!

I'd bet it's the park's voltage/dirty power. I know we're rolling the dice not getting a line conditioner to protect our electronics. just a matter of time really....

I wonder if bad power took out the CB?

I'm. so. happy to read more positive about PD. Upgraded our power converter early this year which solved a ton of power related issues.

I had the same error code about 5 years ago, with the same response. The woman who answered the phone never hesitated; said if you’re showing triple-8s it’s the Logic board. She sent me a new logic board and display without ever asking how old the unit was. Problem solved.
I completed the swap and documented the repair with pictures. 007 kindly posted it in the QT -3 sticky thread of the Newmar Owners section. Thanks again to you, Roger!! Your efforts continue to benefit this group even years after the fact! Anyway, jtulloch, Check here: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/prog...ml#post1786581.
