I just moved into a new garage today...plugged up and waited for my Progressive to click to life...silence..I went inside to check the EMS monitor and found an error...reversed polarity. I could have flipped the switch to tell the system all is ok but felt it was cheaper to call the unit owner and have him fix it tomorrow rather than run the risk of smoking something expensive...I aint talking about a Cuban cigar either

Larry, It amazes me how many times we have people come into the shop with TV, microwaves, converters, refrigerators and the list goes on, where they have had a high voltage surge and blown everything out. I explain to them about the Surge Guard and others that protect them in this way and then they will buy and use one. I tell new onwers of this needed and most of the time they do not want to spend the money. I tell them they can read the horror stories of what happens without one here on iRV2.com. Thanks again for letting our RVing friends know about the need.

And this is the second time in 2 months it has prevented some damage...first time was a low voltage problem....102 volts will eat up the ACs pretty badly and I wouldnt have a clue...until something burned out...Back to the reversed polarity...My garage unit was the ONLY one out of 31 with that problem...got an apology and repair from the owner today....all is well till the next time...Plugging in without one of these is like unprotected sex with a new partner ..you never know what you will come up with
