Propane Tank

We just bought this 08 View and took it to get the propane tank inspected and guess what lol? We need a new tank the underneath of the unit is impeccable but not so much for the propane tank. I knew they needed to be inspected every ten yrs and thought because everything else was clean this would be preliminary. We are in Canada. Anybody recently replace theirs and if so approx how much am I looking at? The garage is saying about $2k is the Covid prices.

Is that a Canadian thing? It's an ASME tank, and they don't have an inspection interval like DOT cylinders do.

Must be a BC Canada thing...they have special propane laws/restrictions

USA....
ASME Tanks (used in MH) do not need recertification/inspections etc
DOT Cylinders (used on trailers) DO have a recertification requirement 10 yrs after mfg date stamped on collar...then again every 5 yrs thereafter

Order the tank and replace it yourself, should be fairly easy to do. Should only be one connection to check for a leak when you are finished.

What he said. Your profile says Winnebago View 24J which is a Class C on a Sprinter. It has a 13 gallon/55 lb propane tank according to what I could find. Empty weight is something like 50 lb. Should be pretty easy to change once it’s empty.
