Rear A/C Not work on Gen but does on Shore

Folks,

I have what should be a simple issue to fix but I am struggling to trouble shoot the issue. Our Fourwinds Huricane has two roof air conditioners that were standard features. When I am connected to the 50 Amp shore power both of my A/C's work fine. When I use the Generator, the front A/C works fine. The Rear unit will not turn on including the fan. This has worked in the past running both A/C's off the Generator (as recent as a few months ago). I reset all my breakers and this does not solve the issue. Obviously there is an electrical issue but I have no idea how to approach this. We live in the hot desert of AZ and require both AC's.

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

IMO this points to a electrical feed problem either from the gen itself or the transfer switch. normally there would be 2 outgoing power feeds fom the gen set to the transfer switch and continueing on to the distribution box (circuit breaker box)/ Each of this feeds should be carrying 120 volts current. Depending on gen set and the electrical system set up the feeds could be same phrase or each feed could be a different phase resulting in 220 volts between the two feeds. Reguardless tho the AC only use 120 volt each and one leg (feed) is not carrying a load

RVhauler is correct. Check the breakers on your Gen set to see if one is tripped.

Thank you both kindly, because sure enough one of the switches was tripped at the Gen. It is late this evening, but there seems to be two legs: one labeled 20 amp (this was the one tripped) and the other is label 30 amp.

Would you think that there is something tripping this switch or is the switch simply old and need replacement?

The Gen is a Onnan Gold 5500. It is not a normal braker and looks more like a light switch. I will have to pull up the part list for the generator to see. Thanks for the direction guys.

Our gen breakers pop occasionally, usually when I try to start the gen under load. They can be reset many times, but best practice is to unload before cranking.
