2021 Fleetwood Bounder 36F. Having electrical issues with mobile RV tech coming next week. Now new development. Parked on shore power. Loud rapid vibrating pops from underneath rear of coach. Any insight appreciated. Very random. Woke up to this first thing. Almost gave me a heart attack. Has happened 3X last 3-4 days. Getting a bit discouraged. New to RVing and not gone on our first trip yet. Thx

This could be your leveling system settling either on soft ground and/or the system lowering.

What kind of leveling system do you have?

CAT makes a hydraulic oil additive specifically to stop the popping sound as the hydraulics settle slightly. There are multiple YouTube videos addressing this.

Otherwise if you have air ride and if you’re not dumping the system it can leak down and make noises over night also.

Jacks change with the temperature swings night to day. Makes a heck of a crack.

Here is part of a PDF on my desktop that shows what Lippert recommends using:

If there is a popping noise in a Lippert Leveling system, Lippert has approved adding a quart of anti-stiction
fluid. Approved fluids are listed by brand name and fluid characteristics below:
• Torco RFF Grade 15
• Maxima Fork Oil Grade 15
• Caterpillar Hydraulic Oil Additive 1U-9891

The CAT additive is the most expensive.

We are now thinking that this too is the AC. Hopefully, RV tech will be able to help us. We cannot run microwave, coffee pot while AC going and TVs are knocked out when they fire up. Our box fan loses power too when AC is going, then revs back to full power when AC cycles off. Thx for input, everyone!

How could popping sound UNDER the motorhome be related to air conditioners on the roof ?

Does it sound like electrical arcing? If so, might be transfer switch…. Any smells like electrical fire or ozone ? If so, I would unplug from shorepower….. you don’t want an electrical fire

The noise sounded like it was from underneath initially but it’s such a loud rapid vibration rattling the coach, a bit hard to pinpoint. There’s no odors but we are watching carefully. Not using anything in coach but AC and occasionally TV until tech gets here tomorrow. This is so challenging as we are completely new to RV’s. Thx

Just a thought. Do you have an Electrical Management System? Mine is a big switch and can bang real good when they engage. Maybe it is coming on and off making that banging noise. Mine did it once in 12 years but I don't remember what we were trying to do.

Thankfully RV Tech came and diagnosed issue quickly! It was a ground wire issue at the electrical breaker box. Amazing how this effected so much…A/C’s, convection microwave, coffee pot, lights, etc. The loud vibration/noise was the A/C struggling through this issue. Although this was a nightmare for days and days, upside is that it was $150 fix at our home, not weeks at an rv repair shop AND we made a great connection and resource for future issues. Hope this helps someone else…thx!
