Refrigerator settings A/C LP AUX
While driving which setting, if any, should the refrigerator be set? I set it to AUX and it seems to work.

I set mine to "Auto" so I don't have to touch it. It switches between 120Volt when on shore power and propane when shore power is disconnected automaticly.

We keep ours on AC when traveling and let it operate from the inverter. You just have to be careful to switch it if you park for several hours with no shore power!

Hi Windy76,
I think you'll get answers where the bottom line is it all depends.
1. Does your refer auto select the fuel?
2. If so, set it to auto and leave the propane (at the tank) on.
3. If not, switch to propane when traveling and to A/C when connected to shore power or the generator is running.

We have 3 choices. Auto, Gas or Off. We always select Auto.

John and Gina,
I set my fridge on auto. 120vac is the default so if you are using the inverter during boondocking don't forget to set the fridge to LP. Then switch it back to auto when you shut the inverter off. Jim

Aux, I assume is 12 volt, if it' works,, Fine.
They used to make tri-power Fridges (Gas/120v/12v) but the problem is the 12 v was often a bit well... anemic, it did not always keep it cold and it sucked a LOT of battery power. Folks abused it and complained when the batteries lasted about 20 minutes (Ok, Ok, I exaggrate a bit on how fast it ran 'em down) but 30 amps is enough to run down a pair of GC-2 in about 3-4 hours. Think about how fast it would kill a single Group 24 (perhaps I did NOT exaggarte). I think they fused them at 25 though.
Today they make Propane/120 and 120/12 volt units, the latter are compressor type (Like a home fridge but a fraction, a tiny fraction of the power, like around 1/3 or less).
