Has anyone bought a remfr'd Coleman AC?
If so, pro/con comments plz.

I'm meeting a man in a couple of hours who has a Coleman Mach 3 A/C Unit for sale at a great price. He said he ordered it then before having it installed discovered it wasn't his existing AC tripping the breaker.
His ad reads, "I ordered this unit by mistake. My 30a breaker kept tripping but it turned out my refrigerator compressor was failing, not my A/C
So I don't need this unit ... I will ship it back if no local interest

If bought, I'll need to buy the interior control unit too.

Does it come with a warranty that is transferable to you since he never used the AC unit?

Seems fishy that he would just assume the AC compressor was blowing the 30 amp and order a new unit? Basic troubleshooting would have you shut down every RV component and start them individually to see where your problem lies.

I too get get a very strange fishy smell on the deal. It may be honest, but who knows.

Can he show you the original invoice?

If he has the warranty card that you can fill in and send to Coleman, would go for it if you get a good deal. Have sold used [no warranty] roof units for $150 to $200 in the past.

I just returned from buying the ac.
Elderly man (seller) had invoice and FedEx delivery receipt with him jotting the time and 8/29 at 13:42 hrs when it was delivered.
He also provided copies of email he sent to RV Product Shop asking to cancel the sale after he learned it wasn't the ac tripping the breaker and the reply stating it was already shipped.

Unit is still on the shipping pallet and doesn't appear to have been mounted or the electrical being connected and the shroud looks brand new.

So instead of returning it for refund he sold it at a reduced price????
