Replace a refrigerator

Being the rookie that I am to RV's ,when I purchased my 1995 itasca 30' I asked the person I purchased it from if everything worked and he said yes. I took him at his word ( mistake) . Well the ref. didn't work . I have purchased a new one and an going to install it myself. My question is should I install a fan to aid in the cooling process ? I have read quite a few articles on how to install one and it seems straight forward on the installation .
I would appreciate any and all information that you can give me ie what type ,size brand etc.
Thank you
Bill

If you regularly use the RV in high temps 90f + the cooling fan is a must , as the fridges stop working about 100 without the extra air flow.

A fan is a good question. We had one on our previuos coach but not on this one and so far have not had any problem with the fridge cooling. It's probably a better idea to have one than not and now that you bring it up I guess I'll go shopping. There was a post about computer fans being used. You should do a search and see if you can find it.

A fan would be a wise addition. A thermostatically controlled one is best - there are kits available.

Hi Omara,
Install the fan now, while the old refer is out of the coach and before you install the new unit. Like Gary said, a fan controlled by a thermostat makes everything real easy. In addition, I would add, put an on/off switch in the circuit. This way, for any reason you can turn the fan off with a push of the switch. The is much easier to do with the refer out of the way.
