Replacement Cooling Unit

I would like to help anyone out that needs info on installing a cooling unit for a refrigerator. I was oblivious to this part but after doing my own install I have it down! I followed a YouTube video, I'll put the link below and worked with tech support at 866-290-2985 to finish out the install.

A couple years back the cooling unit on one of my RVs went out. It was on a Dometic fridge. I too opted to replace the cooling unit myself (with an Amish built cooling unit). I was pleasantly surprised to complete the job quickly (~4 hours 99% by myself) and everything worked great afterwards.


If you are thinking about replacing yours, and you have at least a minimum amount of DIY skills, you can do it!

PS: The Amish cooling unit cools my freezer about 10*F lower than my OEM cooling unit (I have another identical RV with the same OEM refrigerator).

I have done 2 replacement cooling units over the years, and both were the Amish units. They worked way better than the OEM junk. The biggest problem is getting the cooling unit properly sealed to the back of the case. If it is not tight, moisture works it way in and affects the cooling capacity and soaks the insulation.

I have replaced two racks in the same MoHo, first time used the Amish after 8 years it died, call to order a new one and 4 days later the truck backed in with a new rack and covered by warranty. what a pleasant surprise, I would and have recommended the Amish cooling rack and if needed again I buy again.
