Roof A/C temp sensor

I have a 15k Coleman/Mach roof unit that will "short cycle" when used to cool and heat. The entire unit has been replaced by my dealer but the problem still exists.

Here is what I have found: when I stand at the thermostat control at the front of the rv and turn on the rear air, the ambient temp display will quickly change (over a few minutes) temp either up or down, depending on heating or cooling, until the target temp is reached then it shuts down. I believe the temp sensor that is used is the one on the intake grill, it really needs to be farther away to be of any use and not in the airflow to prevent the unit from short cycling. The front a/c unit in my rv has a temp sensor installed under the wall cabinets and runs normally.

There is a cabinet mounted sensor in the rear too but I cannot find where the wires go.

Anyone have this same condition?

I ran this theory by my dealer when I took it in complaining that the rear unit wouldn't run for more than 5 minutes, and they said nope the whole unit needed to be changed out. They told me the compressor was shutting down due to overcurrent, I thought that was a load of bs because my power controller indicated it was only at 16a when running. They just wanted to repl. the unit because the ext. warranty would cover it.

Take a small piece of elec. tape and wrap it half way around the sensor. Do not cover the hole sensor and see if that helps the unit stop cycling to soon.
