RV Water Softener

We are installing a water softener for our travel trailer. We use a blue filter right at the spigot and we also have a Clear Source double filter at the camper. Should the softener go before or after the Clear Source filter?

I filter all of the water before it goes to the softener. If you don't, the softener is a great filter and will catch all of the trash and require more frequent back flushing.

I agree, any particle filters should be before the softener. A carbon filter can go after it, but I don't know if it has to, probably not as all it does is improve the taste. Good luck.

Ok thanks, so even with the little blue filter first in line also have the Clear Source filter in front of the softener?

Sounds like you already have it filtered on both sides. Look over the literature that came with the softener. They will likely recommend the softened water be filtered.

I put all filters before the water softener. I also put the sediment filter before the carbon filter. Cheaper to replace the sediment filter than the carbon.
