Question San-T-Flush: Did I break it?

First time ever attempting to use the San-T-Flush in our Miramar 34.1. After hooking up the hose in the driveway, I turn on the water full blast, walk back over to the hookup and see the very small print that says "Caution - Sewer valve must be open when in use". I sprint back over to the spigot and shut it off. When I come back, water is leaking/draining out of one or more places up in the plumbing area of my plumbing console (Sewer drain, city water inlet, exterior shower, water pump, etc all located in one compartment). Could I have possibly blown a water line or connection somewhere? It's extremely difficult to see up behind the panel at all the plumbing lines. Why does the sewer valve have to be open?? I thought I'd just swish the water around in there and dump the next time I'm out.... Eek!

The valve SHOULD be open to prevent over filling and if there is a blocked vent, the tank won't explode. You've got another issue.

No.. The danger is that if you leave the water flowing via the flusher too long it will overflow the tank and flood your restroom with very nasty flood water.

What happened.

Above the black tank up inside the area you might well consider to be the wall is a vacuum breaker.. When you turned off the water it "Broke" the vacuum and some of the water escaped to drip down ... This is normal, and not something you should be concerned about.

Likewise when you disconnect, expect backflow out the hose.. this is FRESH water from the vacuum breaker back and not something you need be concerned about.

If I misread and water was just coming out the sewer flush connection, you're ok. But if I read right and it was pouring out of everywhere, I think a line is probably leaking.

X2 - and well said! It is scary to see any water coming from anywhere. But in the right context...
