Securing a Samsung RF197 Freezer Door
I installed a Samsung RF197 residential fridge in my coach last September and so far I love it. Following another member’s suggestion, I secure the Samsung’s doors for travel with ball bungees. This worked well until my last trip, when the small bungee wasn’t strong enough to keep the bottom freezer door from opening during a hard left turn. It also wasn’t strong enough to close the freezer door after I completed the turn. While the ball bungees do a good job keeping the fridge’s french doors secure, I need something better for the freezer door. Has anyone with a Samsung come up with anything?
Thanks.
Craig

There are lots of ways you could go to secure the drawer. A nylon strap from one side to the other, A child safety cabinet door latch, etc. I suggest you spend some time in the hardware aisle of a home improvement store after carefully checking out the edges and surround of the refrigerator. Pick a method that's secure but not a pain every time you want access.
In our RV I've installed small cup hooks up under the night table top and another at the bottom below the bottom drawer. A bungee card stretched between the two hooks secures the drawers from opening when driving.

Securing a Samsung RF197 Freezer Door
I saw this at the Tampa RV show last week and posted it on the Newmar site. It's lamp p/n HC-85 and I'll be installing it in my Ventana.

After finding that cabinet latches weren't secure enough when the freezer drawer were full, we got this idea from someone on this forum; what you're looking at are hitch pins inserted through angle brackets into holes drilled into the plastic at the top of the drawer. The plastic is plenty thick enough to handle the load. Everything is hidden when the refrigerator doors are closed.

Thanks everyone. The hitch pin idea seems to be the simplest.
