Mini split caution
I was going to go the mini split route but the manufacturer cautioned they are for stationary use only. Bearings and tubing not meant to flex down the road. They wouldn’t cover it installed in my rv under warranty. Might try it anyway in the future just because of the quietness and low power draw. Let me know how it works out!

I think you could easily get $100 each for the right person but it might be months. I have the original units from 96 still running strong and would easily pay that for a direct replacement if I needed it.
Mostly commenting though because I want to know more about this mini split situation. How are you plumbing the inside units? Where will you hang them? I don’t know many RVs with enough wall space for them.

I just replaced both of my rooftop units for new - one had died and the other, while functional, was still 18 years old. As I was on the road I had no ability to take them along for future resale - I would think Craigslist (so no shipping issues) and ask a few hundred or best offer and just be glad they are gone.

I actually need one to replace my 25 year old AC that died. I'd roll the dice on one for $50 or both for $75. If you happen to be coming to California in the next couple weeks, let me know!

NO one has mentioned Servicing 25 these year old conditioners. They would take the “old” kind of coolant, mostly no longer found & if you do find some it’s become very expensive. Parts, rubber connectors hard to find.
My 2 cents. Scrap them, your not going to find buyers for them. Buy new.

I have owned 7-8 Mini splits at the same time in some of my Vacation Rentals. Believe me, if they break, you do not get them repaired fast at all. My properties were in Florida, where you would think the parts would be in stock and service tech's for those systems would be plentiful. Think again, they are not (a lot of electronics, most tech's will not touch them, just try to sell you a new one}. It could take 6-8 weeks to get a part, very few people will work on them. Even if these are under warranty it doesn't matter. They are great when they work, and really pretty reliable, but just plan a two month repair, or a 1-2 week replacement. Also, about ever 2-3 years they need taken apart to clean the cross flow fan. This is not easy and if some does it, it is expensive. Maybe, if it is not used full time, you could wait 5 years. Sorry for this feedback. But this is my experience. But the theory is great for an RV, very quiet, low current requirements, heat/cool and low power requirements.

Obviously many people have the resources to just go out and buy new. There are many others out there that would be happy to replace their non working units on the cheap. I don't know what their worth is but a little patience might bring in a hundred bucks and make someone with an older rig happier than a waterbug on stagnant water.

I agree.. be realistic..would you buy a 26-year-old AC then go to the trouble to install them only to have them die. I would not. Give them away if you can.

They are worth what scrap price you can get, they use the old r-22 that has been phased out and and considerably less efficient. Anything above scrap 30-40 would be a win if you find some one on a very tight budget. Post on Craigslist and eBay, but watch out for scammers. To me the juice is not worth the squeeze.

Just remember, if you are stuck with them, they are hazardous waist. You will have to find an AC recycle business that takes RV AC's. I had to to this about a year ago when I replace one that died.
