There are several improved versions of 3" corrugated sewer hose (also called a stinky slinky) for RVs. IMO, the better ones are thicker, heavier gauge material that is less prone to leaks, but all of these have ribs and corrugations that are hard to keep clean.
There are also 2 alternatives to the standard 3" corrugated RV sewer hose that I am aware of. One is the macerator pump like the
Sani-Con. A macerator needs 12V power to operate.
The second alternative to the standard RV sewer hose is the
Sewer Solution. The Sewer Solution needs a source of water to operate. I have been using a Sewer Solution since they first came out around 2000, and it works great and is less expensive than a macerator.
The macerator pump and the Sewer Solution are slower to empty your holding tanks than the stinky slinky. I use my Sewer Solution when we have a sewer hookup at our camp site, but I use my stinky slinky at the dump station because it is faster, and I don't have to worry about having a water source for the Sewer Solution to operate.
