Now that looks like a great idea! How did we survive before Harbor Freight!

This is more expensive, but less hand strength is required to use a macerator system.

Occasionally I will apply plain old Vaseline to my sewer hose connectors.

I REALLY like the simple tools twinboat posted. Once hooked on you could even hit them with something if they still didn't give you enough leverage. But I think they would.

Many folks might like those big pliers but many folks with arthritis can't squeeze such things tightly enough to get much use from them. Others can, it depends.

Though Vaseline tends to be handy it is in fact petroleum based and not recommended for most rubber products. There are some that are quite resistant but I've not seen what kind of rubber they use on our hoses and so feel a silicone based lubricant to be better. I use the same light silicone spray I use on other rubber seals on the coach. Because I have it already anyway basically.

Good idea - I’ll try that, too. Thanks

If you clean the fitting and apply some of this stuff...it makes a world of difference.

It is also handy for lubricating the o-ring when you chance the whole house water filter.

All around good stuff to have.

By far, the best solution is this. Takes about an hour to install. Once done, you'll never go back. Never have to mess with the hose again...Dennis https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/...nagement_97650
