Shower cutoff switch/valve at wall connection?
I saw in a Newmar Dutch Star (2015 or 16 model) a friend gave me a tour of and their shower had an on/off switch on the wall connection (not temp control valve), mine has one at the handheld wand. I think it would be easier to turn the water on/off quickly where the wand hose connects to the wall. Anyone know of this item? I think it's probably a 3/8" connection, but just guessing.

I saw that one too, the one they had was a more profound lever vs a twist knob, i.e. easier to handle. Curious what's out there. Thanks for this though.

I installed a similar looking valve at the shower head before the flex line attachment for the handle. The one I used was a 1/4 turn (90°) valve. It's a huge help in conserving water when boondocking with my wife and three daughters. It also prevents messing up the water temperature which is inevitable when you shut off the water at the wall valve. Cheap and easy to install (use some teflon tape on the threads). Bought mine on Amazon.

I disagree with your analysis. With a good quality valve installed near the showerhead, it's right at face height, easy and simple to reach for directly with eyes open or shut, no bending or turning required-- which for some may be problematic with eyes closed.
