Can someone explain the labeling on shower pan measurements? I’m trying to shop for a new one and have specific platform and overhang dimensions to satisfy to fit in the space… with a base that starts 4” above the floor to hide drain and other items on the outside wall under the shower.
The old one is 32x32 (measured on the square), has a 5” deep pan (as in how much water it would hold if plugged) 1” lip for the surround, and the front (if I understand right, that is the apron) extends down 1” more than the base of the pan in total. Is that a 1” apron? Or 6” (being the sum of the depth of the pan plus the extra inch) or a 7” apron (being the total max height of the apron to the top of the surround lip). Or something else altogether!!
Many of the sales pages don’t give very good/consistent drawings with these dimensions.
