Slightly larger inverter generators

I was very disappointed when Honda cam out with their new lightweight inverter generator. 2200W (peak) just doe not "hit the sweet spot" (IMHO). Want people want is a true 2400W (running) generator in about the same size package. If it cam with and external fuel hook up it would be close to perfect !

The closest thing to this is the Westinghouse iGen2500. I have not heard too much about this generator, who owns one ?

2200 watts seems to be the last step before the bigger and heavier ones.

If you have a good battery bank and an inverter, you can run other heavy loads with that, then recharge the batteries in between times of heavy draw.

Happy Glamping.

Getting more watts (HP) from the same sized engine is tough when noise level is a primary consideration. So as output rises, so does weight.

An expensive solution, especially for those who only want to run an air conditioner a few hours a day, a few days per month !

Noise is an issue, but a 2400W continuous generator has to be quieter than a 3000+W generator.

iGen2500 weight 48 lbs. EU2200i weighs 47 lbs. 52 vs 47 dbA @ 1/4 load. 98 cc vs 121 cc engine displacement.

Hmmm ... only 2300W continuous. Makes you wonder how long the "peak" of 3000W is ? Long enough to start a 15,000 BTU AC ?

60 lbs, ??? db, 149 cc (largest of all "one hand" generators mentioned so far)

I'm focusing on the Champion 3400/3500 (sold both ways) dual fuel.
It's rated to 2880W continuous on propane and higher on gas.

It certainly covers my 15K AC, even at high altitudes!

Check out Boliy inverter series gensets.https://bottomlinetrading.com/BOLIY.html
Their specs exceed the Honda 3000 and Yamaha 3600 while being quieter, and weighs 79#.
I don't know how long they last, mine was purchased in 2008 and still going strong.

I have the older champion 3100 now for several years. Runs one air cinditioner. Easy reliable starting. Works well.

So Boliy is back ? They seemed to have dropped off the radar for a couple of years !

Two years ago we bought the Westinghouse iPro2500 https://www.amazon.com/Westinghouse-.../dp/B078V2WSNT for $400 after the folks at Micro Air recommended the Westinghouse iGen2500 as an alternate to Honda/Yamaha. It is quiet, sips gas, one person carry at 48 pounds, charges the battery, and powers our 15K AC with an EasyStart.

I drain the fuel between uses and change the oil annually. Will it last as long as a Honda/Yamaha? I don't know but, it appears the Westinghouse will give us more years of trouble-free service.

We have a Boliy that is used both at home and an occasional RV trip, replacing a 6.5 K commercial genset that 'died'. It has carried us through some extended power outages due to storms as well as poor power situations at a couple CGs. Only complaint is if I forget to exercise it, it can be a bear to start - which reminds me......

Would I like a 3K watt Honda or a Yamaha - sure, but it would require too many dollars for too little use
