Small hole on bathroom faucet leaking

Hi,
Please see attachment below. Itís the bathroom faucet. Leaking from the small white hole under the faucet shaft. Anyone know what the heck the stupid little hole is for? Causing quite a water leak, what can I do to stop it?😜

Get a new faucet, they're standard sizes available at HD, Lowes, etc. Why it's there makes no sense, but it looks like a hole made during the manufacturing process. How the hole could be plugged without compromising water quality would be my concern if trying to repair it.

+1 what he said.

Seems these RV fixtures are the wimpiest ones available.

The cheapest ones at Lowe's are better than what comes in these rigs.

I replaced my faucets simply because they were not attractive. I put in a new sink too while I was at it. I bought all the pieces from Amazon. Local HD and Lowes didn't have the sink in the size I needed and they didn't have faucets I wanted.

The total cost of the material for the project was less than $100. I think the faucets cost ~$25.

See the before and after pics below.

Leaky faucet

Thank you all for your responses. I should replace the dang thing but decided to try plugging it first. Put a scoch (really, incredibly small amount) of glue in the hole two days ago, so far not leaks! Probably wonít last😬

I would be worried that plugging the hole would send water back down to the fixture base, soak the particle board counter, and drip on the floor under the vanity.

I like handles much better than knobs. Good choice.

Mine started leaking this summer, I just forced a drywall screw into the hole as a temporary fix, I will replace the faucet asap. I think the hole might be an anti-siphon air vent. Might be a stuck check valve inside causing it to leak. I will do an autopsy on mine when I remove it.
