Splendide 2100XC terrible noise and only 8 months old

Hello everyone. Am wondering if anyone else had this issue of a fairly loud noise during operation. It sounds like a squeaking or maybe grinding noise that has got much worse the last couple weeks. It seems to mostly happen when the drum is spinning at a fast rate. It also turns out that the only service technician approved by Splendide asks that the w/d combo is removed from the rv and taken to them for service. After diagnosis we would then wait on parts to be shipped for the needed repairs. Not fun! Am not looking forward to removing the unit. Has anyone had experience getting repairs done on a new machine? I purchased our 2016 Tiffin RV from Lazy Days near Tampa.

Stevel720,
We have an older Splendide on our Discovery and I have had to do several repairs over the last ten years.
First, there is a first class Seplendide manual on the web. Google: Splendide manual. Also Youtube has postings regarding maintaining and repair the Splendide units. I have used it to guide me on each of the repairs.
Second, taking the unit out of the coach is a major job. On our coach we have been successful in freeing the unit from wood cabinet and moving it out to where we could tilt the unit to access the insides from the top and back.
Third, does the unit complete all the proper washing and drying operations? If so, the machine is doing its job correctly. However, the internal drum, motor, etc. are suspended on a set of springs that allow the machine to "float" inside of the cabinet. Yes, ours does make noise, sounds like springs to me. Plus there is a great deal of energy when the machine cycles. More noise. If you do not hear violent scraping noises, which would mean the drum assembly is touching the sides of the cabinet because the springs are not restraining the drum assembly properly, then it is doing its job. You can inspect the springs by removing the top cover and looking inside.
The Splendide Manual shows how.
Good luck.
Regards,
JimB

I'm not sure what the issue is; the folks at Westland Service (the official distributor for Splendide) were happy to approve any certified RV technician I specified. I had my local on-site guy do a major repair last year with no issues about payment.

mine does that (or sounds similar to your complaint) its 9 years old been doing it for a few years I at one time thought it was the drive belt slipping when drum reverses or?
Had it apart and put a new pump in it and could not see any reason for the squaking noise

We also have a 2100XC. It does indeed make many strange noises, but nothing that sounds blatantly bad, like metal scraping metal. Early on, a few calls to Westland Sales helped me to understand the new normal.
Suggest you call Westland for tech support. Their customer service is great, and their techs very knowledgeable.

Thanks for everyone's replies! The Westland tech said he thought it was the water pump making that noise. Since my post we've done a few more loads with no issue. These few loads were light loads and the unit was basically quiet all the way through. I believe we might have loaded it with just enough that once the clothes were saturated with water they were heavy enough to cause those springs mentioned prior to allow the drum make that terrible noise, either due to the belt or the drum contacting something. Going forward will be sure to keep the loads light, perhaps even taking jeans etc to the machines at the parks. Thanks again for everyone's input. It is greatly appreciated!
