Splendide/Ariston Washer Has No Power

I believe this is a fairly common problem for a machine that wouldn't last two seconds in the open consumer market, domestically.

Simply put, the power light won't come on. AC traces past the distributor/relay to which the power cord feeds; I'm assuming it is a faulty controller board.

Am I correct, assuming the best remedy is to park at Lowe's, go buy a real 2.4cu washer, and pay $15 to have my showroom-new-looking-but-worthless Splendide removed and put in the dumpster?

Suggestions are welcome, as long as they don't involve hurling it into traffic: safety first, you know.

Call Splendide for help, they are very responsive. We've had a Splendide in our 5ver for 17 years and another in the MH-very reliable.

Westland helped me troubleshoot my AW129 and I ended up replacing my washer control board. Cost of part was around $375, if I remember correctly. I replaced it myself.
