I use Tide fragrance free liquid. The container cap is also the measuring cup. No mess, and I can store the 'jug' anywhere.

Tide has a leak-free measuring cup for a lead. No problem to store. Most new liquid detergents and fabric softeners have the new style caps.

So these new caps that are being mentioned look as if they drain back into the jug. I do kind of remember that now before my wife went to the pods. [emoji106]

Yes, they will drain back into the 'jug'.

The pods are designed for larger washers, not the small RV units....to much detergent does not make your clothes any cleaner.

That’s right she uses those in the large home washer only. We will be using the Splendide washer for the first time come Jan. We will still be using the resort machines mostly.

Or so you think now [emoji6] my DW was skeptical at first , 10 years ago. Very shortly afterward she won’t use anything but the European splendide. Once you “relearn” the European small machine way ( follow manual instructions) it works well. We use tide “he” liquid detergent that we put in a hand soap squeeze bottle. ( store the big bottle in our bulk supply bay) 1 to 1-1/2 tablespoons is all it takes. Very little.

We need 3-4 machines a week while at the resort, she won’t spend that much time doing small loads. But I do hope to use it to fill in the blanks

Should have said 3-4 loads a week in the resort washers. If this washer works good after replacing the fill valves, I could see being able to cut back on those other loads some.

We like Arm and Hammer. Just a couple of tablespoons.

I do the laundry when in the RV, and with the two of us, I average one load per day in the Splendide 2100XC.

Might try that if this washer/dryer performs well. We are spending $12-$15 a week in resort laundry🥴

I have to post an updated on the old new to us OEM Splendide unit. I’m not sure where the thread is about the recommendations on replacing the the fill valves to fix my hose hook up issues will fix some performance issues I was experiencing but I will have to say I am greatly surprised at the performance of this machine. It works great!

I'll address the original question asking about the effectiveness of Splendide's powder detergent. I have used both some Tide liquid we had on hand and purchased the Splendide powder. Both are effective but I'll give the edge to Splendide's. Lots of washes out of that 5 pound box, softener and a non chlorine bleach. As far as the washer itself, love it! Beats the heck out of the campground laundries and avoids the freak show that is the in town laundromats.
