Splendide Washer Dryer SUPPLY HOSES

Recent 80 days MH trip with about weekly WD use for laundry and ::::WATER ON KIT FLOOR!!!!
Determined valves had been left open on the WD and one was leaking just enough to run the Water Pump a few seconds every 6-9 minutes. Closing supply valves stopped all water pump action all night. Dried floor and had hoses replaced at CW (used our GS warranty from sale of MH) ....

CW ESTIMATED $30 parts with $65 labor (.5 hours as the WD cabinet face removes).

SPLENDIDE WD SUPPLY HOSES ARE FINE THREAD @ WD, hose bib at cutoff valves!!!
SPLENDIDE HOSES CO$T $50.00 EACH!!!!!

Note: the WD manual advises 5 year hoses replacement and this 2006 Bounder 35E is now a 10yo with OE Hoses I imagine. CW Spokane, WA cannibalized a show washer to get us going::::::::::::: but they also had bought common hoses initially, which would not connect tightly.

All to merely say: SPLENDIDE WD HOSES ARE UNIQUE & COSTLY!

Thanks for the heads up.
I installed my combo 3 years ago and didn't notice that , I'll make a note and be ready if replacement time comes around while I'm still on the road, and not pushing up....

Good heads up! We have Ariston in our rig and I assumed that they would be standard hoses. Hope I never have to find out!

Well, now I see that the Ariston are made by Splendide! Now I need to call around and find out from Country Coach if they also use a special hose!

What model Splendide do you have? We had a 2000S combo in the MH we used to have, and it had standard 3/4" hose threads. I replaced our hoses with stainless steel braided ones I got at Home Depot for about $25 a pair.

I think you just got hosed! The hose ends on the Splendid washer are industry standard hose bibs. Exactly like the oneson your homes washer. I bought braded hoses from a big box store, replaced them myself in about 30 minutes

The threads are different on the 90* end/metric. ACE hardware sells them for $13.99 ea. Visit your local ACE store and inspect each end for thread difference.

You are 100% correct! My experience this morning - bought a washer secondhand, and didn't think in a million years that standard washer hoses would not work. They will not work!

1/24/2020: For 2 hoses from Splendide shipped to Colorado: $96.94
Amazon - Part Number for the hoses is Westland 112930: $52.18 each (I had to call Splendide to get this part number)

What a rip off!

Make SURE you get the hoses if you are buying a washer second hand.

That is definitely a rip-off!

I think it would be better to replace the inlet valves so you can use standard hoses!

How did you get back there to change them.

That would explain why when we had a new Splendide installed a couple of months ago we couldn't get it properly connected to the existing plumbing which was PEX with fittings cut to fit directly to the washer. Presumably, the fittings weren't fine thread or metric but they had worked fine with our older Splendide.

We installed the new combo and things seemed to be Ok but within a couple of days it had sprung a leak. I blamed the old PEX fittings but the problem may well have been that the old fittings wouldn't fit the new fittings on the machine itself. There appears to have been a change in the fittings over the past ~8 year since our last Splendide was installed.

What we did was cut the PEX back and used Sharkbite so create fittings to which we could attach the Splendide hoses.

When all else fails, read the instructions. I discovered that the Splendide user guide (for the current models) clearly states that the hose fittings on the washer side are 20mm and the other ends of the hoses are standard hose bib which apparently corresponds to 3/4" BSP. I've attached a screenshot.

Now, I'm wondering if for the 20 year life of my MH it's had a washer connected with standard PEX fittings that worked only because they were plastic and could be tightened to the point where they wouldn't leak. I seriously doubt that the coach manufacturer would have known or would have been able to procure 20mm PEX fittings? Who would have thunk?

….yup--had a similar experience....travel friend had a hose rub thru [bad install] and it started leaking....we drove all over Duluth MN, looking to solve this issue......no success--figure it must be metric....my friend ended up cutting/splicing the leaking hose, pending a discussion with Splendide.....

We have the Splendide 2000 (WD802) W/D in our 2002 Windsor. I wonder which threads it has?

The user guide for your model says the same thing. You can read it here on page 4 of this document: http://www.splendide.com/service/man...2100_2000s.pdf
