I know you called Spendide, but call them again, odds are you will get a different tech with a different answer. We had a stuck button, it was in and would not come out after repeat attempts. Called Spendide, tech said we'd have to pull the unit to trouble shoot. Called back an hour later and a different tech said to get a paper clip, partially unfold it, make a hook on the end, put it under the plug and pop it out. It worked fine and never stuck again.

Same thing happened to ours, we replaced the small control board behind the switches, splendid tech support helped us

How did you get to the small control board? Did you have to pull the washer out?
